A word from the Founding Director

Dear friends, well-wishers, and partners in compassion, I am Mr. Gonzaga Lubuulwa, and it is with great humility and gratitude that I introduce to you St. Gonzaga Foundation. I was named after St. Aloysius Gonzaga, who in my later life I learnt that he was an Italian Jesuit best known for his purity, compassion, humility, and dedication to serving the sick and poor, even at the cost of his own life. This has encouraged me to have him as the Patron of the foundation to inspire our mission of love and service.

This foundation was born out of my own life journey. Having had a lot of family loss at a young age, I was thrust into the role of head of my family at just tender years age. With no inheritance or experience, my siblings and I faced the harsh realities of poverty, hunger, illness, and fear. The most sensitive years of my youth were marked by loneliness, expulsion from school, and constant struggle for survival. Yet, in the midst of these challenges, God sent kind-hearted people who offered help when hope seemed lost. Their compassion became the reason I could access even a small measure of education a gift that changed my life forever.

Looking back, I now see those painful years as blessings in disguise divine lessons that shaped my heart with empathy, forgiveness, and a deep understanding of human suffering. They also awakened in me a lifelong calling: to stand with the orphans, the poor, the elderly, and struggling mothers who face the same pain I once knew. The words of Scripture, “Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me” (Mt. 25:40), became the guiding light of my life and the foundation of this mission.

Through St. Gonzaga Foundation, we strive to restore dignity, hope, and opportunity to those who need it most. We cannot do this alone. I warmly invite well-wishers, organizations, and development partners those who believe in the power of compassion to join hands with us in this journey of service. Together, we can transform lives, nurture forgotten dreams, and remind every soul that they are seen, valued, and loved. Thank you for believing that even the smallest act of kindness can make the greatest difference. With gratitude and hope, Mr. Gonzaga Lubuulwa Founder, St. Gonzaga Foundation

Our Mission

St. Gonzaga Foundation exists to restore dignity, hope, and opportunity to the most vulnerable members of society' needy children, the elderly, single mothers, and young mothers struggling to rebuild their lives. Our mission is driven by compassion and rooted in the belief that every person deserves care, respect, and a fair chance to thrive. We work to break cycles of poverty through education, healthcare, food security, and empowerment initiatives that build resilience and self-reliance.

By addressing immediate humanitarian needs while creating pathways for long-term transformation, we seek to nurture communities where every life is valued. We promote inclusive growth by empowering mothers to become providers, ensuring children access quality education, and helping the elderly live with dignity. Guided by faith and humanity, our mission is to transform despair into hope, and dependence into strength, through sustainable acts of love and service that uplift entire communities.

Our Vision

Our vision is to build a compassionate and inclusive Uganda where every child, mother, and elder lives a life of dignity, security, and opportunity. We envision communities where love replaces neglect, opportunity replaces despair, and empowerment replaces vulnerability. St. Gonzaga Foundation strives to be a beacon of hope bridging the gap between those in need and the means to live a fulfilled, self-sustaining life. We believe that social transformation begins when compassion becomes a shared culture and service becomes a common responsibility.

Our long term vision is a nation where no child goes hungry, no mother is left behind, and no elder is forgotten. We aim to create lasting change through education, mentorship, and community-driven development. Guided by faith, integrity, and stewardship, we aspire to inspire a generation that values kindness, practices equality, and builds a better tomorrow through acts of collective goodwill.

Our History

St. Gonzaga Foundation was born out of a humble community effort rooted in faith and the desire to serve humanity. Inspired by the teachings of compassion and service embodied by Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, the foundation began as a small local initiative supporting abandoned children and widowed mothers in the central regions of Uganda. Over time, the growing need for care and empowerment expanded our vision beyond emergency relief to sustainable community development. From early days of volunteer-driven charity, the foundation evolved into a structured organization guided by love, accountability, and hope.

Through partnerships with local leaders, faith institutions, and volunteers, St. Gonzaga Foundation has touched countless lives providing education, healthcare, and livelihood support. Our history is a story of small acts of kindness growing into a movement of trans formation. It is a living testament that compassion, when shared, multiplies and becomes the foundation of human dignity.

About US

St.Gonzaga Foundation

🌟 St. Gonzaga Foundation is a community-centered humanitarian organization dedicated to restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity to some of Uganda’s most vulnerable populations—needy children, the elderly, single mothers, and young mothers. Founded in the spirit of compassion and service, the foundation operates primarily in the central regions of Uganda, where extreme poverty and social neglect have deprived many families of access to life’s most basic needs.

👶 Across these communities, countless children struggle to survive without adequate food, healthcare, education, or a nurturing environment for healthy development. Many elderly individuals, abandoned and without family support, face years of hardship without shelter, proper nutrition, or companionship.

🤱 At the same time, single and young mothers, often victims of social stigma and economic exclusion, are left to navigate life’s challenges alone—without a safety net or pathway to self-reliance.

💖 St. Gonzaga Foundation recognizes that every life holds equal worth and that restoring human dignity begins with meeting essential needs and fostering empowerment. Through integrated community programs, we aim to provide:

  • Child Welfare Support: Access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and spiritual guidance for vulnerable children.
  • Elderly Care and Support: Regular home visits, food assistance, and companionship to ensure the elderly live with dignity and comfort.
  • Empowerment for Single and Young Mothers: Vocational training, psychosocial support, and small business mentorship to help mothers rebuild their lives and provide for their children.

🌍 Our mission is to ensure that no child is denied a fair start in life, and that every mother and elderly person receives the dignity, care, and opportunity they deserve. We believe in a community where compassion drives change, where communities uplift one another, and where hope is not a privilege but a shared right for all.
